What is the purpose of this community?
This is the official LiveJournal community for the Style System currently used on LiveJournal. The name of this system is S2, and links to documentation have been provided. We will also discuss the old style system, S1. However, since it is being phased out, it is recommended you switch to S2.
This community also exists as a place for new styles to be announced and displayed. In theory, any style should be submitted here if the author wants it to be a system style.
Additionally, this community is for discussing the more technical aspects of the style system, and other suggestions, improvements, and thoughts on the S2 language and LiveJournal core API for it.
Any contests for style creation should be announced here, in theory, as well.

What belongs in this community?
- Submitting styles for review. If you have something that looks pretty, let us know about it!
- If you have a bug in your S2 style, and can't figure out what's wrong. Ask us, and we may be able to help (but we broke our crystal ball a long time ago: please give us code)
- If you're curious about how to implement a peculiar feature, ask here.
- If you've come up with something creative with the style system, let us know.
- Any questions about the LiveJournal core API should be directed here.
- Any additions to system styles should, in theory, be announced here.
- Anything else that seems on-topic for style technical discussion.
- Questions about overrides do not belong in this community. Period.
- No off-topic posts, please! While some leeway is given (some things are grey areas), please try to keep this community focused on technical discussion! HTML/CSS questions especially do not belong here!
- Flame wars will not be tolerated.
- Advertising. This is a discussion community, not a place to promote your journal, or other communities. (However, references to other communities are not bad, so long as it's not the point of your post. References in comments are okay)
- Please keep your language polite. This should be a family-friendly community. While the occasional "bad word" is okay, please refrain from using them too much.
- Please keep posts public. We have nothing to hide, and everyone should be able to benefit from this community, not only its members.
